Meðal algengra mosa í sólríkum klettum, urðum, skriðum og á trjástofnum hér á landi er Homalothecium sericeum (Hedw.) Schimp., sem nefndur hefur verið klettaprýði. Hann vex oft í stórum og þéttum, allt að 2 cm þykkum, breiðum. Hann er yfirleitt vel festur á undirlagið, er grænn eða fremur gulgrænn og glansar, jafnvel með silkigljáa; (á ensku heitir hann silky wall feather-moss). Stöngull er skriðull með bogsveigðar greinar, sem minna á lokka.
Stöngulblöð eru 2-3(-4) mm á lengd, lensulaga með greinilegar langfellinga; greinablöð svipuð nema örlítið minni og mjórri; blaðrönd er flöt (sjaldan útundin), ótennt eða mjög fíntennt framantil, en áberandi hvasstennt rétt ofan við blaðhorn. Rif þykkt og kröftugt; á greinablöðum endar það oft sem gaddur út úr bakhlið.
Frumur eru striklaga með þykka veggi, 4-7 x 60-90 µm; í blaðgrunni eru veggir holóttir. Hornfrumur margar og frekur litlar, ferhyrndar og ferningslaga; horn vel afmörkuð.
Plöntur eru einkynja. Stilkur er rauður eða rauðgulur, grófur, 6-10 mm á lengd. Gróhirzla er upprétt, regluleg, gulbrún. Mjög sjaldan með gróhirzlur.
